Welcome to BEYUNIQUE

BEYUNIQUE IS AN ETHOS OF LIFE, FOUNDED BY LUCY YUN IN 2010. IT IS NOT DERIVED FROM BEY-ONCE, BUT IS CREATED FROM LUCY'S LAST NAME, YUN, COMBINED WITH HER MOTTO OF LIFE TO BE UNIQUE.

About

WHAT IS BEYUNIQUE?

BEYUNIQUE is an ethos of life founded by Lucy Yun. Since she was very young, she has been non-stop searching her soul. Her never-ending journeys continued from personality tests to travelling throughout Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America. One thing was very clear- she always yearned to be herself; not to be swayed by mega trends, brainwashed by mass media, or influenced by celebrities. When she moved to Vancouver in 2010, she created BEYUNIQUE, which means to be YUN (herself) and to BE UNIQUE. A decade has flown by, BEYUNIQUE still stands as a place for Lucy's self-expressionism.

Lucy is fantastic to work with - she is a visionary who is full of creative ideas and a quick mind (and hands) to get the work done in a timely fashion! We loved her so much as our graphic designer on a project that offered her to work work with us in-house as a Creative and Marketing Lead. We would highly recommend Lucy for her gorgeous design sense, efficiency, and professionalism. Did I mention she is super fun and sweet too?! Thank you Lucy for bringing our creative projects to fruition.

[Collection] Neil Barrett S/S 2014 Ready-to-Wear

PHOTO COURTESY OF STYLE.COM EDITED BY BEYUNIQUE

Neil Barrett's 2014 Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear Collection is nothing but 3C: Cool, Clean and Crisp.  All of his leather work's very luxurious yet not over-the-top.  Just like how rich that baseball leather jacket's texture is but styled with casual and hip vibe which works for street wear as well.  As street fashion photographers' emerged and flown into 4 major cities for fashion weeks to captivate stylish peeps on the street, fashion designers were asked to find a bridge to connect between high-fashion and street-wear because fashionistas have been photographed as mixing and matching the high-and low-ended brands.  I think Neil Barrett's approach at this S/S 2014 Collection is very clever and marketable in that sense.  Not to mention all of the cocoon-shaped over-sized sweatshirts are to die for.

[Trends] A Mega Trend for Spring/Summer 2013

PHOTO BY STYLE.COM EDITED BY BEYUNIQUE

In a retrospect point of view, Spring/Summer 2013 was dominated by photo-real prints lead by Mary Katrantzou, whose debut in London Fashion Week back in F/W 2009 was a shock and awe to audiences with her unprecedented creativity. Peter Pilotto is another designer in line with Mary Katranzou that has very bold, print-heavy statement of design.  Yet, neither is Mary's or Peter's collection costume-y as both of them placed its prints at right place in structured silhouettes. These two talented designers who have mastered at creating their own prints have become huge influences in fashion.
