Welcome to BEYUNIQUE

BEYUNIQUE IS AN ETHOS OF LIFE, FOUNDED BY LUCY YUN IN 2010. IT IS NOT DERIVED FROM BEY-ONCE, BUT IS CREATED FROM LUCY'S LAST NAME, YUN, COMBINED WITH HER MOTTO OF LIFE TO BE UNIQUE.

About

WHAT IS BEYUNIQUE?

BEYUNIQUE is an ethos of life founded by Lucy Yun. Since she was very young, she has been non-stop searching her soul. Her never-ending journeys continued from personality tests to travelling throughout Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America. One thing was very clear- she always yearned to be herself; not to be swayed by mega trends, brainwashed by mass media, or influenced by celebrities. When she moved to Vancouver in 2010, she created BEYUNIQUE, which means to be YUN (herself) and to BE UNIQUE. A decade has flown by, BEYUNIQUE still stands as a place for Lucy's self-expressionism.

[Look Book] Spectator A/W 2013-14

Spectator is a menswear brand made by Korean fashion designer An Teok, whose idea behind it is all about creating home-grown, hand-crafted and high-quality products. He designs clothes, sources fabrics, photographs and blogs for his own collection, and has been very successfully engaging with its customers by doing so. When he asked for financial aids to his customers on the blog, there were hundreds of comments willing to invest on Spectator. Spectator is quite conservative; there is not much change in shapes or colours, however, its prototypes have been constantly developed and improved over seasons. One of the examples is that fair-isle button-up knit which used to be knitted by an old knitter in Korea. When she became unable to knit anymore due to health condition, he contacted a supplier in Canada and now it's sourced from Iceland and knitted in Canada with even better quality and fit. Spectator's A/W 13-14 is representing the good quality of its clothes and goods. If I were a man, I would've loved to wear head-to-toe in Spectator.

[Collage] Back to Basic

ARITZIA JACKET, 80SPURPLE.COM BEANIE, FARFETCH.COM SKIRT, ZARA SHOES

This fall, I am more into simple and minimal black and white looks than burgundy, tan, south-western, tribal or even leopard which I have a lot in my closet as I love it so much.  I heard a myth(?) that you are "not supposed to" wear white after Labour Day.  But this season, I am all about wearing ALL-WHITE or BLACK.  I had a photo shoot wearing head-to-toe in white the other day and I cannot wait to feature them on my blog!  Photos will be up soon so please stay tuned.  Xo

Butter Pecan or Apple & Oak goes really well with fall.

[Graphic Design] Vintage-inspired Menu

I just stumbled upon these rustic, vintage-inspired menu design that is so perfect for fall.  Not only am I in love with
the overall theme of these shots, but also the mix of typography which is very clean, polished yet sophisticated.

[In the Mood for] All in White

As Spring/Summer 2014 collections have been flooding out since the fashion week in New York started 2 days ago, I am feeling the strong urge of pulling off head-to-toe white looks more than ever.  Although the collections are targeting next spring/summer, I find them completely wearable for this fall as well.  There is no harm in getting a bit of head start, right?  Here, take a look at Yigal AzrouĆ«l's new collection which is a perfect example of how to put all-in-white looks together.
