Welcome to BEYUNIQUE

BEYUNIQUE IS AN ETHOS OF LIFE, FOUNDED BY LUCY YUN IN 2010. IT IS NOT DERIVED FROM BEY-ONCE, BUT IS CREATED FROM LUCY'S LAST NAME, YUN, COMBINED WITH HER MOTTO OF LIFE TO BE UNIQUE.

About

WHAT IS BEYUNIQUE?

BEYUNIQUE is an ethos of life founded by Lucy Yun. Since she was very young, she has been non-stop searching her soul. Her never-ending journeys continued from personality tests to travelling throughout Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America. One thing was very clear- she always yearned to be herself; not to be swayed by mega trends, brainwashed by mass media, or influenced by celebrities. When she moved to Vancouver in 2010, she created BEYUNIQUE, which means to be YUN (herself) and to BE UNIQUE. A decade has flown by, BEYUNIQUE still stands as a place for Lucy's self-expressionism.

[Event] The Latest Scoop Pop-Up Shop Soft Opening

Today, I visited the private soft opening party of the Latest Scoop on South Granville. I was very happy to see the return of this pop-up concept store back to the neighbourhood after 6 weeks of hiatus. Well, it turned out, I didn't wait for nothing. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed with a glass of Prosecco (Mmm one of my favourite drinks!) So, I had a lot of fun shopping while sipping on that little doze of alcohol. The store was consisted of well-curated springy gorgeousness. I loved the fact that it's got so many basic pieces you can wear day and night such as button-up chiffon blouses and dresses. It sure felt like spring has sprung looking at all those blush pink, beige, light-grey and lavender colours on the racks. I am going to team up with them to throw a little event for bloggers which I am pretty stoked about! I will share everything once I have the details on my end. In the meantime, be sure to follow me on Instagram to be in the know for any other events that are up and coming: http://instagram.com/beyunique.

[Collection] Tibi Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear at New York Fashion Week

It looks like minimalism will still be dominantly ruling the fashion scene this fall as according to Tibi's 2015 Fall Ready-to-Wear Collection. It was one of the strongest collections showcased during New York Fashion Week as its styling, fit, shape, silhouette and colour palettes were spot-on. I am taking a cue from it to get pretty clear ideas about how to outfit myself for the season. Especially, I am crazy about those turtleneck sweaters, knitted pants, cropped palazzo pants, belted over-the-knee skirts, midi-skirts with slit, sheared motor jackets, wide-legged culottes, and furry coats all shown in very minimal silhouette. In terms of colour, it almost has a feel of spring/summer collection as seen pastels like mint and lavender, with very little use of burgundy or brown. I've noticed the seasonal difference between S/S and F/W is getting lesser and lesser as the digital era has approached and offered everything instantaneously. I can definitely see myself wearing some of the outfits this spring! Which was your favourite collection of fall/winter 2015 so far?

[Review] Holly's Natural Coffee Body Scrub

I received a sweet gift from "Holly's Natural" all the way from Germany where makes body scrub made out of 100% organic Arabica coffee, organic coconut oil, organic almond oil, organic cane sugar and natural finished fine sea salt. I couldn't hold myself any longer to give it a try of this heavenly coconut-scented body scrub. So, I just quickly jumped into my bathtub, applied a gentle amount on my legs and feet and let it soak into my skin for 5 minutes. The result? It exfoliated my skin as giving a really smoothly-soothed feeling with a hint of oiliness. The only problem was the after-use where the oiliness was challenging to get rid of from the tub. Nonetheless, I quite enjoyed scrubbing my body with Holly's Natural. You can see the before-and-after pictures below.
