Welcome to BEYUNIQUE

BEYUNIQUE IS AN ETHOS OF LIFE, FOUNDED BY LUCY YUN IN 2010. IT IS NOT DERIVED FROM BEY-ONCE, BUT IS CREATED FROM LUCY'S LAST NAME, YUN, COMBINED WITH HER MOTTO OF LIFE TO BE UNIQUE.

About

WHAT IS BEYUNIQUE?

BEYUNIQUE is an ethos of life founded by Lucy Yun. Since she was very young, she has been non-stop searching her soul. Her never-ending journeys continued from personality tests to travelling throughout Europe, Asia, Oceania and North America. One thing was very clear- she always yearned to be herself; not to be swayed by mega trends, brainwashed by mass media, or influenced by celebrities. When she moved to Vancouver in 2010, she created BEYUNIQUE, which means to be YUN (herself) and to BE UNIQUE. A decade has flown by, BEYUNIQUE still stands as a place for Lucy's self-expressionism.

[Street Style] Photo Shoot with Mark Leibowitz of Glamour Magazine

Glamour Magazine's photographer Mark Leibowitz visited Vancouver searching for stylish people in town.
It was not only such a pleasure having my photos taken by him, but also a great opportunity
to meet all the stylish Vancouverites gathering around Yaletown on that day. As below,
I'm sharing my photos of some people whom I met there. Check out how stylish they are!

Christie Lohr, the founder of online fashion job site "Style Nine to Five", is adorned with eagle ring from
Holly Boutique, studded flat shoes, leopard skinny belt and colourful jeans matching with her nails.

Contributing writer of Vancouver Is Awesome, Valerie Tiu's got a pair of wicked sunglasses
that look like a butterfly. Also, new tattoo she's just got on her left arm looks fiercely charming.

Viranlly Liemena's wearing double-breasted navy jacket, light-blue shirt with a bow tie, brown snakeskin
clutch from American Apparel and tasseled vintage shoes. Such a classic style with vintage twist.

Jackie's wearing a denim jacket with asymmetric, chiffon, pleated maxi-skirt.
Her beautiful smile makes her look more fun yet playful.

Photographer Jamie Kowal's showing British chic style with the khaki-coloured,
double-breasted trench coat. Effortlessly cool.

Big thanks to Paul Melo who spread the word out for the shoot. Not only has he got a
amazing blog of Vancouver street style called "Style Quotient," but also has a decent style.

I took a photo of Mark when he was checking out photos of me. I'll probably get a heart-attack
if one of my photos gets published on Glamour Magazine. If not, it would be still remembered as one
of the greatest experiences in my memory. Great meeting you everyone! Hope to meet you all again.

[Outfit] Golden Collar

I'm really into separate collars in these days. Peter pan collar's so in fashion right now but I find it too cutesy for me. So I bought this beautifully glittering collar from The Bay which suits me better! Now I'm totally in love with this collar. I am wearing a black collared tuxedo jacket from S. Korean brand 'S Solezia, the leopard maxi skirt that has a side slit from Urban Outfitters, leopard hoop earrings from Forever 21 and crocodile-embossed clutch from Rebecca Minkoff.

I've got this sleek ponytail with all of my fringes combed and then sprayed to upwards for today's shooting. I've coveted this hairstyle for such a long time as seeing it from many fashion shows in New York to Paris. I love the fact it has 80's vibe to it. Which is why I felt like dancing disco as having this hairstyle! It was pretty tricky to get this done though because there's too much layers on my hair, but my hairstylist Shane totally nailed it!

Make sure to hype my looks on lookbook.nu/beyunique! Hope you all are having a wonderful week!
